Description:
Gibela, a South African and French railway rolling stock manufacturer, was founded by Ubumbano Rail, Alstom, and New Africa Rail. Alstom now holds 61% of the black-owned enterprise, with Ubumbano Rail controlling 30% and New Africa Rail that controls 9%. Gibela had to replace the ageing metro fleet with a new modern service in 2013. The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) directed them to bring 600 modern commuter passenger trains into the South African rail network over a ten-year period.

The PPS Foundation is awarding bursaries to financially deserving students who with superior academic achievements in the fields of: Science Technology Engineering Mathematics The company understands the scarcity of these important sectors in the country and therefore provides opportunities to combat the condition. Students can receive bursaries for the Humanities field as well. The bursary candidates are selected based on their academic performance and financial need. The bursaries will be awarded from the first year of the degree course itself.

Eskom Bursaries 2023 About Eskom Eskom is a public utility company in South Africa that is currently one of the leading electricity providers. Founded as Electricity Supply Commission (ESCOM) in 1923 as per the Electricity Act, it is generating almost 95% of South Africa’s electricity. The company has a number of power plants, including the Koeberg nuclear power station and Kendal power station. The latter is the largest coal-powered electricity generation plant in Africa and the 22nd largest in the world. Eskom is also a publicly-traded company and listed in JSE as BIESKM. Eskom Bursaries 2023 Eskom is offering bursaries to a certain number of students every year in the field of engineering. This is to encourage more students to take up the engineering streams and realise their full potential. Besides that, the bursary programme is also an attempt to improve the South African labor market. The sector is evergreen, bright, and growing. More skilled professionals would be needed in the future. For the academic session 2023, Eskom is awarding bursaries to students for the upcoming academic year in undergraduate degree studies in electrical engineering, with a specialisation in the heavy current (B.Eng / B. SEDISA Trust Bursary
Description:
SEDISA Trust was established in 2010 to help previously disadvantaged young women of colour by funding their tertiary education. The Trust also supports students to enhance their lives as young South African women. The objective of the Trust is to help previously disadvantaged young women of colour to continue their tertiary education. The young women that the trust support would not have had a chance to study further without the Trust. Through the financial funding of these students, it will be made sure that they are able to obtain a tertiary qualification. This does not only help them with their studies but this will also help them support the trust holder’s family since the trust covers tuition, accommodation and books expenses. The Trust also provides the grantees an opportunity to improve their lives as young South African women. SEDISA Trust introduces motivations to the grantees that even though things may seem tough and difficult at times, giving up is not a solution, which is in line with the Trust’s quote: “No one knows what the future holds and your opportunity may just be around the corner.”
